Hellgate Models Help

Hey everyone,

I come to your forum seeking help! I think the Hellgate characters look really good and would like to discover a method for importing the models into Blender.

I've unpacked my files with Unhell and can get the weapon models in Blender using AmCollada. However, the characters are in .wm (working model) format and my computer just thinks they're Windows Media Video/Audio. So I can't figure out how to convert them to any useful format.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've had some limited success extracting the Hellgate models. Here's the four helmets I've gotten...



When using amCollada to convert the .wm files to .dae, it crashes though. I can't figure out why it works on rare occasions with only a few files. Any help would be appreciated.

The topic is 18 months old but here goes.

AmCollada was an application (exe) written by Maeyan.
People seem to be referring to it as a script or plugin.
Other comments suggest gmax works best with amCollada.

Chrrox at http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=6915&hilit=hellgate
seems to have used Maeyan's Reanimator googlecode and "Just build it in visual C#".
Hard to tell what is humor sometimes.
What Chrrox did or didn't include is anyones guess, or you might pay the 5 Euro sub to find out.

While "Working Models" do use the .wm extn, their programs and files are not graphics ones and the HG .wm and .am files are graphics files. The Working Models red herring needs to be put to rest.

This is the readme from Maeyan's amCollada, it might reduce confusion.

This program converts Hellgate London meshes into Collada (dae) documents. Most meshes in the hellgate000\data\units should export okay. This program is only alpha, expect bugs. It should however export these low poly count models okay. Have fun :)

The item meshes have the .am extenstion

The maps have the .m extenstion
